
Winner of the racist comment of the week, Newt Gingrich probably only got away with this comment only because he was at the National Federation of Republican Women (single? go to www.nfrw.org).
For all those Gingrich supporters reading this (I know you do) here is where he went wrong:
a. Just speaking another language doesn't mean poverty or ghettos
b. Bilingualism, not a surprise to most, means speaking two languages, oftentimes in the United States the immigrant's original native language and then English. Billingual education would encourage English speaking students to learn a new one, and non-English speaking students to learn English. Thus there would be no need to change ballots at all.
c. Learning a new language is required in a lot of schools, and it will actually get you farther in life, because communication is never a bad thing.
